HSSNM PetSmart Charities Partnership-"Good 360"Awarded

Pictured below, Jamie Jones, HSSNM Board of Directors presented Matt Mercer, outreach coordinator with the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope with items for MCVH clients' pets & "Tent City" occupants' pets.

HSSNM's adoption-partnership program was awarded by PetSmart Charities “Good 360” program with three large crates of pet care/supply items, pet costumes, and accessory items. The donations included a large array of dog beds, pet toys, shampoo, a year’s supply of flea/tick prevention for six size dog categories.

Flea/tick prevention treatment, shampoo, pet beds and toys were delivered by HSSNM and presented to Mesilla Valley Community of Hope outreach coordinator. The items will be used for health/safety purposes and play/socialization benefits of pets residing with occupants of “Tent City” and pets belonging to MVCH clients.

Pictured below is Huckleberry, a dog being fostered through Cherished K9 All Breed Rescue. Huck is pictured with trainers from Cloud 9 Dog Training. Cloud 9 has assisted local rescue groups by offering discounted obedience classes for foster dogs.

HSSNM volunteer Jamie helped distribute dog bed donations to other groups in town who have assisted with the rescuing of displaced dogs and cats.

Jamie (left) is pictured with Melissa (right), the owner of Central Bark all breed dog and cat grooming. Central Bark has assisted local rescue organizations by offering low cost/free grooming, emergency boarding, and doggy day care assistance.

Below, Jamie is pictured with Katie. The daughter of Carla Baker, the president and founder of Cherished K9 all breed dog rescue. Laying on the bed is a recently rescued puppy named Tanner. This 10 week old puppy was found on the side of the road with a broken leg & has now been taken in by Cherished K9

Seen in this picture getting a sports massage is "Lola" who is owned by HSSNM volunteer Jamie. Lola recently tore her ACL and is scheduled to have knee surgery. Just like in humans massage therapy can help prevent and treat injuries for canines and race horses. Seen rubbing Lola is Vivian, founder of The Agile Animal. Vivian has assisted local rescue groups by donating raffle items.
